Turkeyfoot Elementary Receives Momentum Award from ODE
The Ohio Department of Education recognized Turkeyfoot Elementary School with a Momentum Award in June 2016.  The Momentum Award is presented by the State Board of Education and recognizes schools for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year. Schools must earn straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which includes gifted, lowest 20% in achievement and students with disabilities.  Congratulations Turkeyfoot Elementary!!!!  
Ohio's Parent Texting Service Available NOW
A texting service from the Ohio Department of Education gives parents another way to stay up to date on education news and resources. Click here for information on subscribing to parent text alerts. Parent texts include ideas for families with elementary, middle or high school students; information on school choice scholarships; facts on how children can earn free college credit in high school; and information on earning a high school diploma after the age of 22.  
Summer 2016 Food Program
All children ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites. Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals. State Chemistry Challenge
Twenty-five students from Copley-Fairlawn, Highland and Coventry middle schools participated in the first Chemical Education Foundation’s You Be The Chemist Challenge in Summit County.

2016-2017 School Year Calendar is now available!
The Coventry Local School District's master calendar for 2016-2017 has been approved.  To view and download the calendar, click here. This year’s school calendar (15-16), as well as all future calendars are based on the state’s required “instructional hours” for students.  Per the Ohio Department of Education, the minimum instructional hours in a school year for students in grades K through 6 is 910  hours and 1001 hours for students in grades 7 through 12.
