The office of curriculum and instruction would like to extend a formal note of congratulations to all the students, staff, and families of the Coventry Local School District for yet another successful academic year. The 2011 state report card rating demonstrates a year of amazing academic achievement for our district. Here is a breakdown of some of the academic highlights from this year’s accountability profile:
Highlights from the 2010-2011 School Year Report Card:
· Our District's Designation: Excellent
· Number of State Indicators Met out of 26: 25
· Performance Index (0-120 points): 99.4
· Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP): Met
· Value-Added Measure: Met
· Significantly Improved Assessment Areas (5% points or more):
o 7th Grade Math – 9.5 % increase
o 8th Grade Reading – 6.3% increase
o 10th Grade Writing – 7.4% increase
o 10th Grade Math – 5.9% increase
Report Card Focus for 2011-2012 School Year:
· Meet AYP Goals at all levels for all student groups
· Improve 8th grade OAA Science scores & 10th grade OGT Science scores
· Work toward achieving “Above Growth” on the Value-Added Measure
· Continue to improve all assessment areas and educational opportunities for all children in Coventry Local Schools
