Welcome to “Award Winning” Erwine Middle School

We are very excited about the 2007-2008 school year. We hope that our parents will take an active role in the education of our students. With the demands of the Ohio Achievement Tests and the unique developmental needs of middle level students, it is imperative that we work as partners.

This summer a team from Erwine presented at the National Schools to Watch Conference in Washington D.C.  It was a great opportunity to share Erwine’s best practices.  We were also able to learn from other recognized middle level schools in the nation.   During the 2007-2008 school year, we will be seeking re-designation as an “Ohio School to Watch”.

Recent accomplishments include:

2006-2007       Buckeye Best “Silver Level”

2006-2007       Standard and Poor’s recognition for narrowing the achievement gap for economically disadvantage students

2005-2006       Break Ranks in the Middle inclusion in the nationally renowned publication for middle school reform sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principal’s

2003-2004      Ohio Middle School Association Component Awards

2004-2007              Ohio “School to Watch”

Excellence in student achievement is a priority at Erwine Middle School.  Our staff is committed to providing parents with the information needed to assist the school in this endeavor.  Please utilize Progress Book to track student class performance.  Our staff can be contacted via telephone and e-mail.  We encourage you to keep the lines of communication open.
