Poetry Winners
Two students from Mr. Mark Jamison’s poetry course were honored with first and second place in this year’s Wayne College Student Writing Competition.  Senior Sam Thompson (left) won first place, and $100, for her poem “Saved,” and senior Lisa Heddleston (right) was awarded second place, and $75, for her poem “The Mother and Her Son.”  Their pieces were selected from hundreds of entries from twenty area high schools.  Both poets will be recognized at a ceremony during the 9th Annual Wayne College Writers Workshop on April 14.
