Coventry High School Intervention Referral Process for Parents

1. If you have a concern about your child's academic performance in a particular subject, the first step is to contact the teacher of that subject. Let them know about your concerns, and ask if they can provide any insights or suggestions.

2. After discussion with you, the teacher will fill out a referral form. This form documents the areas of concern, and any previous interventions that have been tried.

3. The referral form is then reviewed by the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team. This team is made up of school staff who work together to provide academic and behavioral support for students.

4. The MTSS team will discuss the referral and determine if an academic intervention is warranted based on your child's strengths and areas of need. If so, they will develop an appropriate course of action, which may include additional assessments, targeted instruction, or other supports.

5. Ongoing progress monitoring will be conducted to determine if your child is making progress, and if any adjustments to the intervention are needed You, as the parent, will be kept informed and involved throughout this process.

Remember, you are an important part of the referral and intervention process. Your insights and observations can help the school staff better understand your child's needs and provide the most effective support.
