Coventry's Fiscal Office oversees the financial activities of the district. These areas include, but are not limited to: payroll, health benefits, accounts payable, investments, grants management, budgeting, forecasting, student data systems, and public records requests involving the school system.

PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTS:
The treasurer handles all public records requests for the Coventry Local School District. Data and official records are retained by the district in accordance with Board Policy EHA. Please visit the Public Records Request page for more information and steps on how to access the district's public records. Thank you.
- The district's Records Commission Committee meets on an annual basis to review the district's records policy and any requests for the removal/deletion of records.
- The next meeting is scheduled for January 9, 2025 at 5:30 PM.
- Location: Coventry High School, 1135 Portage Lakes Drive, Akron Ohio, 44203, in the media center.
FRAUD REPORTING: CONCERNED ABOUT POTENTIAL FRAUD IN COVENTRY SCHOOLS?
Per Ohio's Auditor of State (AOS) office, complaints or concerns regarding fraudulent activity may be communicated to AOS at anytime by any public employee or private citizen.
Ohio Whistleblower Protection Act (Ohio Revised Code § 4113.51-4113.53):
Protects: Both private and public sector employees.
Protected Reporting: Reporting in good faith a reasonably believed violation of state, federal, or local law that is:- A criminal offense likely to cause imminent physical harm or public safety/health hazard.
- A felony.
- An improper solicitation for a contribution.
Reporting Process for Protection:
- Oral notification to supervisor/responsible officer.
- Followed by a written report to the same.
- Employer has 24 hours (or next business day) to correct or make good faith effort.
- If no action, employee can then file a written report with the relevant public official/agency.
Prohibited Retaliation:
- Employers cannot take adverse actions (e.g., termination, demotion) against employees for protected reporting, asking about it, or verifying accuracy.
Employee Remedies: Can file a civil lawsuit within 180 days of retaliation.
Potential Relief: Reinstatement, back pay, benefits restoration, attorney's fees.
Good Faith Requirement: Reports must be made with a genuine belief in their truthfulness.
