College App Deadlines

Seniors should have all of their college applications submitted by Thanksgiving, or sooner depending on the college/university.   Also, please remember that FAFSA goes LIVE on October 1st.   


Please check the guidance bulletin board or scholarship bin weekly for updated scholarship opportunities.  The Coventry Local Scholarships will be available no later than March 1st. 

Financial Aid Night

On Thursday, November 1, 2018, the Guidance Department will host an informative Financial Aid Night at 6:00 p.m. in the high school theater.  Every college bound senior and their parents should attend.  All types of financial aid will be explored, including FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), grants, loans, and scholarships.  FAFSA goes LIVE this year October 1st.

College Credit Plus (CCP) Information Night

On Thursday, November 1, 2018, the Coventry High School Guidance Department will host the College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational Night at 7:30 p.m. in the high school theater.  This is a mandatory meeting for anyone considering CCP for the 2019-2020 school year.

                  29 - PLCC at CHS to visit English 10 classes
Dec           3-20 - End of Course exam retests for those necessary 
Jan            17 - Freshmen Scheduling Orientation (incoming 9th) - 7:30 pm - Theater
Feb            4- Sophomore Field Trip to PLCC  
                  20 - ACT testing for juniors
March       14 - College Planning - meeting with juniors - 2:00 
April           ?? - Underclass Awards
May          7 - Senior Academic Awards and Scholarship Night (by invitation) 6:30 p.m.


Ohio Means Jobs

The Coventry Local Schools will be utilizing OhioMeansJobs to deliver career exploration and advising activities in grades 6-12. Students will create a free account and have access to it from any computer.The school counseling department will be conducting these activities with your student. We encourage parents to work with their students in exploring these activities.
