School Superintendents Release Statement on 2016 Report Card
The following statement (click here to view) is being released by the Akron Area School Superintendent’s Association representing member districts from across Summit, Portage and Medina counties, serving a wide variety of communities with long histories of excellence in education. Our primary concern as educators is to ensure our students’ academic growth, while preparing them for college and careers.

The joy of staying up late and sleeping in has come to a screeching halt for our children, and parents are faced with the daunting task of dragging tired teens out of bed each weekday morning. Chances are, they won’t be getting enough sleep, especially once the homework and after-school activities kick into high gear. Progress Book Parent Access
Progress Book Parent Access Letters for the 2016-2017 school year will be sent home the first week of September. If you have not yet created an account, you will receive a letter containing a registration key. Registration keys that were previously issued are no longer valid.

TDaP & Meningitis Immunization Clinic
With the new immunization requirements for all 7th and 12th graders - Coventry Schools has arranged for Health Heroes' TDaP & Meningitis Immunization Clinic to be held at the Middle School August 18th from 5 pm - 7pm and August 19th from 9 am- 11 am. 2016-2017 School Fees
School fees for the 2016-2017 school year can be found hereSchool fees may be paid by cash, check, or online through the My School Bucks program. Please make your check payable to your child’s school. We kindly request that all school fees be paid by October 15.  
Turkeyfoot Elementary Receives Momentum Award from ODE
The Ohio Department of Education recognized Turkeyfoot Elementary School with a Momentum Award in June 2016.  The Momentum Award is presented by the State Board of Education and recognizes schools for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year. Schools must earn straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which includes gifted, lowest 20% in achievement and students with disabilities.  Congratulations Turkeyfoot Elementary!!!!

A texting service from the Ohio Department of Education gives parents another way to stay up to date on education news and resources. Click here for information on subscribing to parent text alerts. Parent texts include ideas for families with elementary, middle or high school students; information on school choice scholarships; facts on how children can earn free college credit in high school; and information on earning a high school diploma after the age of 22.
